#Step into the enchanting world of Swan Lake with Queensland Ballet Academy's 2024 Repertoire Series!


Calling all young dancers aged 10 – 18 years to embark on a journey through the timeless elegance of Swan Lake, as envisioned by the renowned choreographer Ben Stevenson OBE and set to Tchaikovsky's magnificent score. 

Enjoy the thrill of stepping into the shoes of professional dancers as you experience classical ballet training with our world-class faculty followed by immersive repertoire sessions dedicated to learning excerpts from this well-loved production. In our 2024 series, dive into the rich repertoire of this classical masterpiece and experience the grace and precision of Swan Lake, providing the perfect opportunity to refine your technique and delve deep into the artistry of the ballet. 

From the iconic choreography to the extravagant costumes and mesmerising sets, every aspect of this production will be explored in this captivating series. The program will conclude on the final day with a viewing day to share this unique training experience with parents/carers.

Program participants have the option to select in the registration form whether they are interested and happy to be approached about further training opportunities with Queensland Ballet Academy. Please ensure you speak with your main dance teacher prior to registering for the program and we encourage you to be transparent with them if you select these options in the form. Please note only select participants will be contacted about further training opportunities following the event.

Classes will be scheduled between 9am – 4.15pm AEST

Please note that classes will not run for this entire duration and a detailed schedule will be provided by email the week prior to the event.


#Attire


Girls: Leotard of own choice, ballet tights and ballet flats or demi-pointe shoes (pointe shoes may be required for older students). Queensland Ballet Academy strongly promotes Safe Dance Practice. Pointe work will only be introduced if the teachers feel that students are at a suitable level of strength and ability. Participants may also wear black footless tights or shorts for contemporary repertoire. Participants are not expected to purchase new items specifically for this event. 

Boys: Fitted T-shirt and tights, or unitard, with socks and ballet flats. Participants may also wear footless tights or shorts for contemporary classes and if they already own them. Participants are not expected to purchase new items specifically for this event.
