Cinderella Children's Workshops

Join Queensland Ballet Teaching Artists for a magical workshop, exploring the characters, storytelling and ballet moves from our My First Ballet production of Cinderella. These workshops are designed as the perfect addition to your performance viewing experience, but they can also be enjoyed without attending a Cinderella performance.

In the workshop for 2–5-year-olds, children will create special memories together with their parent/carer, by exploring the story, music and characters of Cinderella.

In the workshop for 6–12-year-olds, children will begin with a short ballet class warm-up. Our expert Teaching Artists will then take your children on a magical adventure to develop their storytelling and creative movement skills, by exploring adapted repertoire from Cinderella.

Children are welcome to come in any attire they choose, we simply ask that they be able to move and play comfortably in their outfit. Ballet shoes, sneakers or bare feet are all acceptable footwear. No previous dance experience is required to participate.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
