#Presented by NOOSA alive!
Queensland Ballet is excited to once again collaborate with the prestigious NOOSA alive! festival, marking their twelfth year of partnership in 2025. Queensland Ballet’s talented Jette Parker Young Artists will present two captivating works that promise to leave audiences in awe: Back to Bach by Greg Horsman and Curious Beings, a world premiere by acclaimed Australian choreographer Amelia Waller.
Back to Bach returns to Noosa after its world premiere at Noosa alive! in 2016. The work captivates audiences through the seamless fusion of grace and discipline within classical dance. The emotive composition of Bach’s timeless violin concerto demonstrates speed and precision that showcases the skilled technique of QB’s artists.
Curious Beings explores human behaviour through the lens of artificially created beings, focusing on a journey of identity, memory, and self-discovery, responding to stimuli with childlike wonder. Inspired by Alasdair Gray’s Poor Things, the performance invites the audience into a fantastical, timeless realm, where reality is fluid. In collaboration with Dead Puppet Society, the production uses puppetry to blur the lines between human and artificial, animate and inanimate.
Queensland Ballet is delighted to continue its longstanding relationship with NOOSA alive! and looks forward to this unforgettable showcase in 2025.
This production is supported by the Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland.
