Bálint Rauscher

#Biography

In 2011, Rauscher graduated from the Hungarian Dance Academy and commenced his professional dancing career working with the Serbian National Ballet in Belgrade, Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka and Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. 

As a professional dancer, he performed many roles across the full classical ballet repertoire as well as a wide range of contemporary and modern works by some of the world’s most celebrated choreographers including Vladimir Malakhov, José Carlos Martinez, Patrice Bart,Wayne McGregor, Angelin Prejlocaj, Ohad Naharin, Edward Clug, Giorgio Madia, Jirí Bubeníček, Youri Vámos, Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Derek Deane, among many others. 


As a dramaturg and assistant, Rauscher has collaborated extensively with choreographer Leo Mujić on a range of acclaimed ballet, opera and musical theatre productions across Europe. These include The Great Gatsby at Slovenien National Ballett, Ljubljana, Croatian National Theatre, Split, Bulgarian National Opera and Ballet, Pride and Prejudice at Croatian National Theatre Zagreb, Bulgarian National Opera and Ballet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Cinderella at Croatian National Theatre, Rijeka, Sheherazade and her Tales at Latvian National Ballet, Riga, Croatian National Theatre, Rijeka, Carmen at Teatro Massimo, Palermo. Hamlet at Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, Slovenien National Ballett, Ljubljana and Queensland Ballet, Australia.
His musical theatre collaborations with Mujić include productions of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, and Cabaret, reflecting a creative partnership that spans ballet, opera and major stage musicals.
