Annabelle Lopez Ochoa on Coco Chanel: the Life of a Fashion Icon
Acclaimed Belgian-Colombian choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa discusses her creative process behind developing the full-length narrative ballet, Coco Chanel: the Life of a Fashion Icon. Annabelle also describes how she collaborated with Costume and Set Designer Jérôme Kaplan to bring the different periods of Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel’s story to life.
The Ballet Boys Project
Queensland Ballet is taking the global decline of boys in ballet and dance very seriously and is committed to changing this downward trend and addressing what is potentially a sustainability issue for our artform.
As the first part of The Ballet Boys Project, we are thrilled to offer free weekly classes to boys aged 11 – 14, throughout term 3 (8 July – 9 September) and term 4 (30 September – 2nd December). New students can join anytime.

Queensland Ballet Academy develops the artists of the future. Students experience professional, industry-aligned training alongside face-to-face academic education through our unique collaboration with Kelvin Grove State College.

Meet our Principal Artist, Alexander Idaszak
Alexander is the most recent dancer to join the rank of Principal Artist, being promoted in 2023. He's come a long way since joining Queensland Ballet as a Company Dancer in January 2013.
