Meet the Choir Performing in Messa da Requiem

Featuring over 130 singers alongside 36 dancers, Messa da Requiem demands extraordinary coordination as voices and movement unite to channel the full emotional weight of Verdi’s monumental score.

In this video, Chorus Director Emily Cox AM and Kym Jones (Soprano 2) from the Brisbane Chorale and Canticum Chamber Choir share their excitement and anticipation as they prepare for our upcoming production — the first to open the iconic new Glasshouse Theatre next month.

Messa da Requiem is running from the 27th March to the 4th April at the new Glasshouse Theatre, QPAC.

Messa da Requiem is presented by Queensland Ballet in association with QPAC, and generous support from the Messa da Requiem Giving Circle.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
