Meet our new Artistic Director, Leanne Benjamin OBE AM

Our newest face at Queensland Ballet is Artistic Director Leanne Benjamin OBE AM.

Leanne started her journey with us earlier this year, working around international time zones, while packing up her life in the UK to move home to sunny Queensland.

Originally from Rockhampton, Leanne spent two decades dancing with The Royal Ballet before retiring from the stage in 2013 to focus on nurturing new generations of dancers.

We’re excited to have her energy at the Thomas Dixon Centre and look forward to sharing this new chapter together!

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
