Queensland Ballet Academy’s Open Day

Queensland Ballet Academy’s Open Day

On Thursday, 21st July 2022 from 3.30pm to 6pm, Queensland Ballet will hold its second Open Day since opening its doors in March 2020. This event will be hosted in conjunction with Kelvin Grove State College’s Open Day.

After much positive feedback in 2021 from the first Open Day, it made sense to make this an annual event for everyone to attend.

During Open Day, prospective students and their families will have the opportunity to tour the Academy’s facilities, attend an information session, observe dance lessons, and enter our prize giveaway. Visitors can also explore Kelvin Grove State College’s campus and learn about the College’s academic offering, its excellence programs, university programs, entrepreneurial programs, and futures-focused industry partnerships and programs.

Commenting on the Open Day, Academy Director, Christian Tátchev said:

“Our upcoming Open Day is the perfect opportunity for aspiring young dancers who are serious about becoming professional artists, to discover more about our training and our values. They will also have the opportunity to find out more about the invaluable partnership we hold with Kelvin Grove State College. This partnership allows us to nurture dancers who are not only training in line with the professional dance industry, but who are also academically empowered. I look forward to welcoming our Open Day participants and sharing our vision with them.”

Please join us on the day at 101 L’Estrange Terrace, Kelvin Grove. Open Day attendance is free of charge for all visitors.

For those wishing to receive more information prior to and post-event, a registration form is available at https://kelvingrovesc.eq.edu.au/enrolments/open-days with option to tick ‘Qld Ballet Academy’ as an area of interest.

Queensland Ballet Academy is the official training school of Queensland Ballet. For more information about the Academy and its programs, please visit the Queensland Ballet Academy website.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
