From Page to Stage – The Making of Dangerous Liaisons

Presented by Julia Lebiocka for Queensland Ballet

This FREE exhibition shines a light on the talented artisans who first brought the Dangerous Liaisons ballet production to life – highlighting the skills, dedication, and creativity of the teams working behind the scenes. Their expertise formed the backbone of every performance, ensuring that each moment on stage came alive.

The world of Dangerous Liaisons was realised through the skill and dedication of its makers, who transformed choreographer Liam Scarlett’s vision into a living, breathing production. From costume designers and fabric cutters to set builders, prop makers, and lighting technicians, each played a vital role in shaping the atmosphere and drama of the ballet. Get a glimpse of the work that goes on behind the curtain and enjoy the craftsmanship of the many creatives who bring a show to life.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
