QB Giving Day
17 October 2019
At 9 am on Thursday 17 October we will raise the curtain on our inaugural Giving Day.

We will have 24 hours to fill our new Academy home with all that our students need to thrive:
- a world-leading teaching faculty
- ballet barres, pianos and pianists for our six studios
- physiotherapists, health and fitness equipment for our Wellness Suitescholarships to support our students with their tuition and living expenses.
How it works
For 24 hours only, donations secured from our generous match donors means that every $1 you donate will be quadrupled.
Our campaign will start at 9am Thursday 17 October and conclude exactly 24 hours later. In that time, we will reach out to all those who believe.
We don’t shy away from challenge at Queensland Ballet, so our Giving Day is a one day only, ALL OR NOTHING campaign! If we don’t reach our target, your donation won’t be processed.
We believe that a great Ballet Academy is the foundation of a great Ballet Company.
In 1953, Charles Lisner founded Queensland Ballet’s first training programs to give young talent a platform to shine. As we open the doors to our new Academy home in 2020, we continue to place our students at heart, bringing professional ballet training together with academic studies on one campus at Kelvin Grove State College. In full flight, our Academy will nurture more than 150 young students from Years 7-12.
Thanks to the Queensland Government, our new Academy is nearing completion.
Your quadrupled gift can fill our Academy with all that our students need to thrive:
- $25 transforms to $100 - towards physiotherapy treatments for our students
- $50 transforms to $200 - towards a Pilates reformer for our Wellness Suite
- $100 transforms to $400 – towards our world-stage teaching faculty
- $250 transforms to $1,000 – towards our talented pianists
- $1,000 transforms to $4,000 – to fully fund an ice machine to aid recovery
- $2,500 transforms to $10,000 – to fully fund one of five upright pianos
- $5,000 transforms to $20,000 – to fully fund all portable ballet barres
- $13,000 transforms to $52,000 – towards one scholarship including expenses
- $15,000 transforms to $60,000 – to purchase our baby grand piano
