#Program Overview
Hamlet – Exploring Hamlet
Join Queensland Ballet at the Thomas Dixon Centre for an engaging curriculum-aligned workshop into the world of Hamlet, our new 2026 production.
What to Expect:
- This experience invites Secondary Dance students to visit the Thomas Dixon Centre and explore how the choreographer has reimagined Shakespeare’s iconic narrative and conveyed it through movement.
- Students will engage in practical workshops that refine technical and expressive skills, practise safe-dance techniques, and expand their choreographic toolkit.
- They’ll gain insight into the creative process behind bringing this classic story to life on stage and discover how choreography can be used to communicate complex characters, emotions, and themes.
Student Benefits:
- Aligned with ACARA Dance (Years 7–10) and the QCAA General and Dance in Practice syllabuses, this immersive experience offers a rare glimpse into the making of a major Queensland Ballet production.
- Explore, do and watch - enhance the experience by combining the workshop with our special school matinee performance on the same day.
