#Q&A Panel Discussion

This panel responds to the International Women’s Day 2026 theme Balancing the Scales, the inspiration of Australia United Nations’ justice-led framework into a cultural, artistic, and embodied context.

While the global IWD theme focuses on justice, equity, and structural imbalance, this conversation explores how balance is understood, practised, and sustained within the arts, particularly ballet and across leadership and wellbeing.

The panel positions balance not as correction or equality, but as sustainability, mastery, and longevity.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
