Bespoke 2026 - Call for Creative Collaborators
Expressions of Interest open from 4 August 2025
Queensland Ballet invites choreographers, designers, costumiers, composers, and interdisciplinary creatives to pitch their original ideas for Bespoke 2026 — a groundbreaking contemporary dance season showcasing new commissions in an immersive theatre experience.
We’re seeking expressions of interest from creatives who are ready to push artistic boundaries and bring bold, original ideas to life.
This is your opportunity to collaborate with Queensland Ballet and help shape the future of contemporary performance.
Whether your concept is just beginning or already in development, we want to hear from you.
#Your Proposal should:
- Present an original concept not previously performed or created for another platform.
- Be designed to evolve into a standalone full-length dance work (20–25 minutes minimum).
- Fit within the technical parameters of the Talbot Theatre, Thomas Dixon Centre.
- Showcase your unique creative voice and readiness to collaborate.
#The Collaboration
- Queensland Ballet will curate and select creatives to participate in Bespoke 2026.
- Selected creatives will receive a nominal fee, negotiated individually.
- Final works will be exclusively licensed to Queensland Ballet for five years.
- All participants must adhere to Queensland Ballet’s policies and procedures.

- Monday 13 October 2025 | Creatives Finalised and Notified
- Tuesday 21 October 2025 | Queensland Ballet Season 2026 Launch – Winners Announced
- Tuesday 2 June – Saturday 18 July 2026 | Rehearsals with Queensland Ballet Dancers
- Friday 10 July – Saturday 25 July 2026 | Performances at the Talbot Theatre, Thomas Dixon Centre
Your submission should include:
1. A short proposal outlining your concept and creative vision.
2. Link to supporting materials such as sketches, music samples, or video excerpts (if applicable).
3. A brief biography highlighting your background and experience.
4. Your social media handles.
