On Point: Li Cunxin in Canberra

On Point: Li Cunxin in Canberra

#“From that moment, I promised myself I would never waste this rare opportunity – the freedom of life – that I was given.”

Li Cunxin

On Point is a series of events proudly hosted by Queensland Ballet allowing insight into the world of inspiring creative people and their exceptional journeys.

The first of these will feature our very own Li Cunxin, whose early life and ballet career was made famous through his biography and subsequent movie, Mao’s Last Dancer. Hear from Li himself as he shares the deeply personal stories and experiences that lead him to the pivotal moment that changed his life forever and defined his approach to the rest of his life and career.

Reflecting on a rich tapestry of experiences, relationships, opportunities and challenges that weave together this extraordinary life, Li will take part in a hosted Q&A and will take questions from the audience. This up close and personal event will take place The Canberra Theatre Centre main theatre.

Join us on Saturday 9th November with individual tickets from $60 or upgrade to a Meet and Greet Package to join Li for $200

“We felt so privileged to be present in the audience to listen to Li last night. He is a truly remarkable man, so humble and gracious, and a great inspiration to all us lesser mortals.”

“Li’s talk was inspiring, motivating and thought provoking. Well done to QB for creating the On Point Series, and for Li to share his incredible personal journey. And to finish the presentation with QB’s future vision, fantastic take away for the audience, I noted that this finish created a lot of chatter as I walked out of the theatre.”

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
