Dance has the profound power to enrich and transform lives, connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds; it is an art form that allows for the expression of individuals, communities and cultures, a defining aspect of being human. For this reason, Queensland Ballet love to connect people of all ages with ballet.
Developed by a team of highly experienced program managers, teaching artists, community engagement specialists and registered educators, all opportunities are underpinned by artistic excellence, authenticity, accessibility and creativity, delivering highly enjoyable and enriching activities for all students and children.
The focus of Queensland Ballet’s educational experiences is to complement and enhance the teaching and learning currently taking place in classrooms around the world.
Developed in consultation with teachers, Queensland Ballet provide a year-long calendar of events and specially crafted resources that offer school students insights and opportunities to learn, grow and have fun. Our array of experiences and opportunities include In-School workshops, Queensland Ballet Immersion Experiences, High School Work Experience Residencies and the Ambassador Program for Practicing Educators.
Queensland Ballet offers several enriching experiences for private dance studios and their students. These experiences are designed to create a supportive and encouraging environment in which our dancers, artistic staff and EdSquad can mentor, nurture and inspire the next generation of dancers.
Our Adopt-a-Dancer program provides a very special opportunity to develop a unique connection with one of the dancers from the Company.
"Through the Adopt-a-Dancer program we're able to share our professional experiences with aspiring dancers. As a Company Dancer, and as someone who has ‘been there before’ it is always a pleasure to give back to local schools and students." Sophie Zoricic, Company Dancer.
Alongside this we also have the QB Junior Friends, a year-round membership program for all young dance lovers and other pop-up experiences such as Q&A’s, open company classes and so much more.
“Being a junior friend is a magical experience. It's really fun being trained by the dancers at the company and meeting them and learning what they do in their day to day life. I love that kids of all ages and talent can enjoy” Harrison Fletcher, age 11
