Introducing Serena
Serena was born in Sydney and attended her local dance school, Macquarie Dancers, from ages six to 14 where she was trained in the British Ballet Organisation Syllabus and studied all styles of dance. At 14, she joined the Premier State Youth Ballet Company, a part of the McDonald Performing Arts College, and at 16, she received the Female Scholarship in The City of Sydney Ballet Scholarship, which enabled her to attend classes in major international ballet schools. Serena received a scholarship to The English National Ballet School in London, and after graduation moved to the Czech Republic where she danced at Narodni Divadlo Brno (National Theatre of Brno) for five years. Here, she danced her favourite role to date, Myrtha, Queen of the WIllis in Giselle. She joined Queensland Ballet in 2017 as a Company Artist and was promoted to First Company Artist in 2020.
