Kieren was born in Brisbane and started tap and jazz at 3 years old. His interest in ballet grew when he joined the QB Associate Program and moved to Annette Roselli Dance Academy. He soon realised that Ballet was both challenging and made him a better dancer in all the other genres. He continued dancing as a hobby until grade 10, when he considered pursuing dance part-time. In Grade 11 Kieren joined the Queensland Ballet Senior Program Level 2, where he could train for half the day and continue his academic studies. In 2019 he began his full-time training with the company as part of the QB Pre Professional Program and became a Young Artist in 2020.
