Dance Camps

#Dance Camps

With new and old friends alike, children aged between 5 – 17 years enrolled in a Queensland Ballet Dance Camp will perfect their technique and practice their pirouettes under the careful guidance of Queensland Ballet’s Teaching Artists. Since 2015, Queensland Ballet has been delivering four-day Dance Camps to regional areas during school holidays, and 2019 saw the first two-day Dance Camp delivered in South East Queensland.

Created to enrich lives, help raise awareness about ballet, reinforce the diverse technical and expressive skills in our communities and uncover the magic of ballet in a fun and engaging way, participants will:

  • get creative with sets and costumes;
  • learn current Queensland Ballet repertoire;
  • develop choreography to share and explore with others; and
  • meet new people.

An informal showing will conclude the camp and parents/carers are invited to attend, and celebrate the achievements of all.

This is our way of sharing Queensland Ballet with as many people as possible and increasing our reach into communities who don’t normally have the ballet in town.

For those students who love to dance, are looking for a creative outlet to learn more about the magic of the ballet and need a fun physical activity, Queensland Ballet’s Dance Camps are guaranteed to make art a part of daily life.
