Senior Program —
Under the guidance of Academy Director, Christian Tátchev, and sitting between Queensland Ballet’s Associate and Pre-Professional Programs, the Senior Program is comprehensively designed to develop students’ skills to the highest artistic and technical standards, offering initial preparation for a career in a professional ballet or dance company.
In partnership with Queensland’s Department of Education and Training, the Senior Program allows students to simultaneously undertake face-to-face senior academic studies at Kelvin Grove State College in years 10, 11 and 12. Entry to the Academy is by invitation or audition.
With thanks to considerable financial and ideological support from the Premier and the State Government of Queensland, Queensland Ballet Academy has been recognised as a world-class ballet training organisation offering a comprehensive industry-aligned, professional training pathway for Queensland, national and international dance students. And as such, we look forward to moving into brand new, purpose built facilities in 2020 while simultaneously extending our professional ballet training offerings to students from Year 7 through to a Pre-Professional level.
All Academy programs are overseen by Queensland Ballet’s Artistic Director, Li Cunxin, and students enjoy the privilege and benefit of working within a professional environment alongside our world class ballet company.
