#Frequently asked questions

1. Are classes still running? 

Senior Program Term 1 classes will conclude on Saturday, 28 March. Term 2 commencement date remains as scheduled for Monday 20 April, however should Government advice change, we will update as required.

Pre-Professional Program and Associate Program classes have been suspended until further notice. 

2. Can I watch or wait for my child’s class to finish in the Academy building? 

No, we are respectfully asking all parents to drop off and pick up their children from outside our building’s reception entrance. We appreciate your cooperation on this matter.  


3. I have paid to attend an event that has been cancelled. Will I be refunded? 

Yes, all registrants to cancelled events hosted by Queensland Ballet will be refunded. You do not need to contact us for this, we will process your refund within 30 days. If you have not received a refund by then, please contact us.  

For events that are ticketed externally, such as our Queensland Youth Orchestras performance, please read their ticket terms and conditions, and reach out to them if you have any questions. 


4. I have paid to attend an event that has been postponed. Will I be refunded? 

If your registration is from Queensland Ballet Academy, you will be contacted soon with a new date for the event you have registered for. Your registration will automatically transfer to this new date. However, if you are unable to attend the new date please contact us and we will arrange a refund. 

For events that are ticketed externally, such as our Queensland Youth Orchestras performance, please read their ticket terms and conditions, and reach out to them if you have any questions.


5. What happens if schools shut down? 

We understand this is a tricky time for students and families, and we will follow all directives from the Department of Education and advise parents / guardians, and students as soon as any changes are made.


6. Am I allowed inside Queensland Ballet’s buildings? 

All visitors are expected to sanitise their hands before entering our buildings. The Academy building at Kelvin Grove State College is currently experiencing a shortage in hand sanitiser, so we recommend bringing your own to be safe, and using the facilities to wash your hands upon arrival and prior to exiting the premises.  

We respectfully request you do not enter our buildings if you: 

  • Feel unwell or are suffering from any cold and flu symptoms  

  • Have returned from travelling overseas in the past 14 days 

  • Are waiting through a period of self-isolation  

  • Are awaiting results from COVID-19 testing 

  • Have been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive to COVID-19 


7. What happens if my child is unwell? 

If your child falls ill during class, you will be notified and requested to collect them immediately.  

If your child has fallen ill at home, seek medical advice and email to inform us that your child will not be attended class via
