The audition class, taught by an industry professional with live piano accompaniment, will include a call-back element. A call-back is an invitation offered to select auditionees to return for a second audition class to demonstrate additional, more complex, material such as grand allegro (big jumps) or *pointe work for older students. Being a simulated audition, all participants will be involved in the call-back component and will receive group feedback from the teacher.
Audition Experience Day participants will also enjoy a body conditioning class, a video audition and resume preparation session and a Q&A and information forum. During this forum, facilitated by Head of Academy Program (Upper Levels), Paul Boyd, QB Company Artists and former professional dancers, including Head of the Pre-Professional Program and the author of the book "Preparing for Ballet Auditions", Wim Broeckx, will provide invaluable insight into the industry and audition process. Questions will be welcomed from the young dancers.
