Associate Programs

Please note that the Associate Program will evolve into Levels 6 – 4 of the Academy Program from 2021. Please visit the Academy’s Foundation Program and Academy Program pages for more information regarding elite training for children in Years 3 – 9.

Associate Programs

QB Academy Associate Programs are designed to supplement the work of community dance teachers and offer students the chance to work more closely with Queensland’s State ballet company. The Associate Programs give gifted young dancers the opportunity to further develop their skills by working with their peers under the guidance of the Academy’s world class teachers.

Catering for students between the ages of 10 and 15 years, applicants must be a minimum of 10 years of age and no older than 15 years and 4 months at 1 February 2020 (ie. Must not turn 16 years old prior to 1 October 2020).

There are three levels in our Associate Programs and age is only used as a guide when placing students into the most suitable level. Ongoing assessment throughout the year ensures all students are training in the correct level to gain full benefit from the Program.

A regular Academy Teacher will be assigned to each level of the program. From time to time, classes may be taught by other members of the Academy or Artistic team.

In addition to the elite training provided, Associate Program students receive other invaluable benefits such as the opportunity to view Company and Academy rehearsals and attend mainstage performances, as well as automatic membership to QB Junior Friends
