Academy Program - Transitional Course

An exciting new course designed to equip dancers with a strong, hybrid skill set across both ballet and contemporary techniques, in preparation for pre-professional and tertiary contemporary dance studies.

Transitional Course

Under the direction of Contemporary Dance Coordinator and Resident Choreographer, Louise Deleur, a renowned figure head in the Australian contemporary dance industry, this course is an additional pathway available within the Academy Program at Level 1. It is suited to students entering Year 11 or 12, who are seeking a career in professional companies whose repertoire incorporates contemporary, modern or neo-classical genres.

Graduates of this unique course will be primed to progress to further training as strong, classically trained pre-professional dancers with highly developed skills attained through a focused development of a range of contemporary dance techniques and specialised skills including partnering, improvisation and choreography.
