The Queensland Ballet, founded in 1960 by Charles Lisner OBE, is the premier ballet company of Queensland, Australia and is based in Brisbane. Queensland Ballet is one of only three full-time professional ballet companies in Australia.

1953
Charles Lisner established the Lisner Ballet Academy.
1960
Lisner Ballet Company is formed, re-named the Queensland Ballet in 1961.
1982
Queensland Dance School of Excellence (QDSE) is established in Partnership with Queensland Ballet and the Queensland Government’s Department of Education and Training.
2015
Building upon the legacy of Charles Lisner and QDSE, QB implemented its own training programs in order to meet a new artistic vision under the direction of Li Cunxin.
2016
QB consolidated all training programs, creating the Queensland Ballet Academy.
2020
Queensland Ballet Academy opens its state-of-the-art training facilities in Kelvin Grove.
