Postponed - 60th Anniversary Gala

#60TH ANNIVERSARY GALA – RESCHEDULED TO LATE 2020

We are able to announce that our 60th Anniversary Gala has been rescheduled for 8-11 October at Lyric Theatre, QPAC. We are planning on scheduling special guests to dance alongside our wonderful Company dancers. We'll keep you posted closer to the date on this exciting information.

Although there are fewer performances that originally scheduled for the Playhouse, moving the show to the Lyric Theatre has added an extra 25% capacity for the season and seating in the stalls will be prioritised.

9 October 2020, 7.30pm
10 October 2020, 1.30pm & 7.30pm

ACTIONS FOR YOU TO TAKE
Please phone QTIX on 136 246.

You may:
  • Transfer your ticket(s) to a new date
  • Request a full refund if the new dates are unsuitable.

If you do this, you may wish to consider donating the ticket value to Queensland Ballet, which we will treat in line with our Donor Promise.

Join us for an unforgettable retrospective that celebrates the wealth of dance created and presented by Queensland Ballet since the first performance by Charles Lisner’s company, The Lisner Ballet, in 1960.

Our acclaimed dancers will be joined by international guest stars paying tribute to the contributions of Queensland Ballet’s five Artistic Directors: Charles Lisner OBE, Harry Haythorne MBE, Harold Collins MBE, François Klaus and Li Cunxin AO.

Enjoy excerpts from iconic works, including Charles Lisner’s Chopin pas de deux (1965), Jacqui Carroll’s Carmina Burana (1982), Harold Collins’ The Lady of the Camellias (1996) and Francois Klaus’s The Little Mermaid (2003) and Cloudland (2004). Fittingly, our season will culminate in Harald Lander’s thrilling and masterful homage to classical ballet, Études (1948) as we showcase Queensland Ballet today, under current Artistic Director, Li Cunxin AO.
