Tamara Hanton

Tamara began her dance training at the Dianne McLellan Dance Academy at the age of five. She then trained at the Anne Fraser School of Dance for six years before being accepted into Queensland Ballet’s Professional Year (PY) program in 2006. While a PY student Tamara was awarded both the Patricia MacDonald Scholarship and the George Hartnett Funerals Award. She became a Trainee Dancer with the Company in 2008 and a full Company member in January 2009.

Since her association with the Company, Tamara has appeared in many productions. In 2009 she danced the role of Violente, one of the fairies in The Sleeping Beauty. In 2008, Tamara toured with the Company to Japan with The Little Mermaid, to Europe with Timeless Dances in 2009 and to China in 2011 with The Little Mermaid.
