Katherine Rooke
Katherine was born in Casino NSW and received her early dance training from Elizabeth Polson-Galloway and Kate Fitzgerald in Port Macquarie. She joined Queensland Ballet’s Professional Year program in 2008. In her first year, she performed in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, International Gala 2008, and The Little Mermaid, and had the role of Madame Kchessinska’s student created on her by François Klaus for his Swan Lake. In her second year, Katherine appeared in the Brisbane and regional Queensland performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as International Gala 2009 and The Sleeping Beauty.
Katherine was selected to perform as an extra in the Paris Opera Ballet’s production of La Bayadère in 2009. She was taken into Queensland Ballet as a Trainee Dancer in January 2010 and joined the Company on their The Little Mermaid tour to China in 2011.
