Kathleen Doody

Kathleen commenced her training at the Karen Jacobi Dance and Performing Arts Academy in Queensland. She was an inaugural member of the Queensland Ballet Junior Extension Program, and later attended the Queensland Dance School of Excellence where she was awarded the Partricia McDonald Memorial Scholarship. Kathleen was accepted into Queensland Ballet’s Professional Year program in 2005, and was offered a Trainee position in 2007, becoming a full Company member in 2008.

In 2008, François Klaus created the role of the Sun Goddess on Kathleen for his piece, Timeless Dances in …with attitude 2008. Kathleen performed a pas de deux in Dutch choreographer Nils Christe’s piece Purcell Pieces in International Gala 2008 and was a part of the creation of Timothy Brown’s Double Edge in Soirées Classiques No.1. In 2009, she performed in Mario Schroeder's Erdbeermund (International Gala 2009), and Nils Christe's SYNC (...with attitude 2009).

Kathleen has toured internationally with Queensland Ballet, performing in Germany and Switzerland in 2007, Japan in 2008, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany in 2009 with Timeless Dances and China in 2011.

Did you know?

Kathleen loves music and art. She takes as many photos from side stage as she can. She states that she loves “the depth of emotion that can be captured when photographing live performance”.
