The Sleeping Beauty
4 - 19 December 09
After pricking her finger on a rose thorn, Princess Aurora succumbs to a spell cast by the evil Carabosse. The good Lilac Fairy intervenes and changes the spell to an enchanted sleep. One hundred years later, Aurora is finally awakened by a kiss from Prince Désiré, and there follows a joyous wedding celebration.
This magical tale in which good confronts evil has become one of the most loved ballets in the classical repertoire. Set to the famous music of Tchaikovsky, François Klaus’s captivating production of The Sleeping Beauty honours the style of Marius Petipa, and retains the best of the traditional choreography.
