Queensland Ballet Dance Classes are designed to increase your fitness, flexibility and co-ordination in a fun and supportive environment.

Classes are open to adults aged 16 years and over, and take place in our studios in the historic Thomas Dixon Centre in Brisbane’s West End.

The classes are run on a casual basis. No dance experience is necessary and all fitness levels are welcome. Just come and have fun.

Please note:
There are some changes to the schedule from Monday 27 October - Thursday 13 November.
Dance classes on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings will commence 15 mins after the advertised time.

Dance Classes will finish for 2014 on Thursday 4 December. Classes will recommence on Monday 12 January, 2015 with the Summer Ballet Boot Camp.

Beginner Ballet

Teacher: Tracey Carrodus / Timothy Brown
Learn the elements of ballet in this open and enjoyable class. Perfect for those who would like to give ballet a try.

Intermediate Ballet

Teacher: Tracey Carrodus / Timothy Brown
Develop your technique, co-ordination and rhythm in this class designed for those with some previous ballet experience. Select Intermediate Ballet classes will include introductory pointe work.

Ballet Basics

Teacher: Sally Ringland
Ballet Basics is perfect for people who've never taken a ballet class before, or for dancers who want to refresh their knowledge. Aimed to refine fundamental ballet technique and develop confidence for our Beginner Ballet Classes. This course consists of six one-hour classes.

Contemporary

Teacher: Nerida Matthaei 
Contemporary dance is an expressive dance form that encourages natural, spontaneous movement. Develop your strength and co-ordination in this class that will get you sweating.

Pilates

Teacher: Melissa Tattam
Pilates is an invigorating form of exercise for the mind and body. It works to develop a strong core, promoting leaner muscles and improving participants’ overall sense of well-being.

Dance Fit

Teacher: Nerida Matthaei 
Dance Fit is cardio fun at its best. You will burn calories, increase your fitness levels — and learn to dance!

Contemporary for Mature Age Adults

Teacher: Wendy McPhee 
Designed for people aged 55 and over, this class uses the movement and techniques of contemporary dance in a gentler more accessible approach.
