Keian Langdon

Keian began his early dance training in Taree, and went on to the McDonald College of Performing Arts in Sydney, where he was trained by Allan Cross and Josephine Jason. He was accepted into Queensland Ballet’s Professional Year in 2005, becoming a trainee dancer with the Company in 2006. During that year, he also danced in Murmur, a new work by Louise Deleur, for Dance Creations ’06 in Melbourne. He became a full Company member in 2007.

Since he has been associated with the Company, Keian has performed in many productions, including François Klaus’s A Thousand and One Nights, the International Gala and …with attitude seasons, Cloudland, Romeo & Juliet (Tybalt), The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Swan Lake (Rothbart and Rasputin) and The Sleeping Beauty.

Keian was one of three dancers who created and presented Moving Stories as a school holiday program for Queensland Ballet in 2005. In 2007, he created the role of Garcia in Klaus’s Carmen, and performed in new works choreographed by his colleagues Simone Webster (Full Circle) and Timothy Brown (The Laundromat Blues) for the Vis-à-vis Studio Series. In 2008, Keian featured in Csaba Buday’s Partnered in Vis-à-vis Studio Series # 3.

In 2009, Keian partnered QB Principal dancer Rachael Walsh in the Cloudland pas de deux at the RAD Regional Advisory Panel for South Australia's Helpmann Centenary Scholarship Performance. In that year, the role of Stanley in Klaus's A Streetcar Named Desire was also created on Keian. In ...with attitude 2009, Keian performed in Gareth Belling's Refraction, Kim McCarthy's Nineteen and the pas de deux in Nils Christe's SYNC. He danced in Louise Deleur's Linage in International Gala 2009.

Keian has toured internationally with the Company to Germany and Switzerland in 2006 and 2007, to Singapore in 2007, to Japan in April 2008, and to Denmark, Switzerland and Germany in 2009.

Keian was promoted to Soloist in April 2010.
