Venue
Playhouse
The 850 seat Playhouse is located at the South Bank Parklands end of QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre). Entrances and lifts face the Parklands at either corner of the building. Built in 1997, the Playhouse is a state-of-the-art venue offering access to cutting edge technology and stage design in a traditional proscenium theatre.
Lyric Theatre
The 2,000 seat Lyric Theatre features exceptional acoustics, large main and rear stages, an orchestra pit and a magical atmosphere of warmth and elegance. The Theatre is located on the Melbourne Street/riverside corner of QPAC. Enter from the Melbourne Street entrance and proceed up the stairs or take the lift to Level 1 for the Stalls or Level 2 for Balconies 1 and 2.
Transport
Train
The South Brisbane Train Station is located directly opposite QPAC in Grey Street.
Please note: Due to an upgrade to South Brisbane station, the station will be closed from Monday 31 October to Friday 9 December 2011. The closure only affects travellers wanting to get on and off at the South Brisbane station, not those travelling through the station. During this period a shuttle bus service will operate between South Bank and South Brisbane stations.
Bus
The Cultural Centre Busway Station is located on the Melbourne Street side of QPAC. A large number of bus routes pass through this station, which provides convenient transfer to and from major servicing areas outside the city.
CityCat
The South Bank Ferry Terminal is only a short walk along the river from QPAC, in South Bank Parklands.
For train, bus and CityCat ferry timetables, please phone TransLink on 13 12 30 or visit www.translink.com.au.
