International Gala 2012

A SHOWCASE OF FINEST CLASSICAL AND CONTEMPORARY DANCE.

International Gala celebrates virtuosic dance in its many forms, bringing celebrated guest dancers to Queensland Ballet’s stage. 2012 marks the 15^th year of this very popular annual event, and will be a special homecoming for three of our guest dancers – Tama Barry, Daniel Gaudiello and Chantelle Kerr – who have trained and danced with the Company.

The varied program of classical favourites and contemporary masterworks is crafted by Artistic Director François Klaus into a thrilling, bravura performance. We welcome back regular guest choreographer Nils Christe, who will mount an excerpt from Diner Dansant, and didgeridoo maestro William Barton will join the Company to reprise an excerpt from François Klaus’s Timeless Dances. A stunning Overture and Finale for the entire Queensland Ballet ensemble frames this exciting program of dance.
