Sarah Thompson —
Sarah Thompson was born on the Gold Coast and began dancing under Yvonne Brittain at the age of five. In 2007, Sarah completed two years of full-time dance training at the Queensland Dance School of Excellence where she received the Charles Lisner Memorial Scholarship. During her time with QDSE she performed in The Nutcracker with the Queensland Ballet.
She was offered a place in Queensland Ballet’s Professional Year Program where she performed in many productions including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty where she performed the Miettes fairy solo. In 2008, Sarah was awarded the Patricia MacDonald Bursary.
Sarah joined Queensland Ballet as a Trainee Dancer in January 2010 and was promoted to Company Dancer in 2011. She has performed many roles including Myrtha in Ai-Gul Gaisina’s Giselle, Winter Fairy in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella, Big Swan in Francois Klaus’ Swan Lake and Princess in Francois Klaus’ The Little Mermaid.
