Katherine Rooke —
Katherine was born in Casino, NSW. She received her early dance training from Elizabeth Polson-Galloway and Kate Fitzgerald in Port Macquarie.
She joined Queensland Ballet’s Professional Year program in 2008 and performed in many Queensland Ballet productions.
In 2009, Katherine was selected to perform as an extra in the Paris Opera Ballet’s production of La Bayadère. She joined Queensland Ballet as a Trainee Dancer in 2010 and was promoted to Company Dancer in 2011.

- Katherine thought ballet was too ‘girly’ when she was younger. Luckily she kept at it!
- Katherine likes to paint and is currently teaching herself animation programs on the computer.
What has been your favourite role to perform and why?
"The role that sticks with me the most would have to be Ben Stevenson's Three Preludes. It is both physically and emotionally challenging and such a beautiful and rewarding piece to perform."
