Tim O’Keefe was awarded a scholarship to Houston Ballet Academy in 1981. Joining the company in 1982, he was promoted to Soloist in 1985, and Principal Dancer in 1995. 

Artistic Director Ben Stevenson created the title role in Dracula for Tim in 1997, which he performed across the globe. In 2000, Tim danced the roles of Caesar and Alcebiades in the world première of Ben Stevenson’s Cleopatra. He has also performed in works by Jiři Kylián, Christopher Bruce, Paul Taylor, James Kudelka, Trey McIntyre, Sean Kelly, and Lila York. 

Currently Associate Artistic Director at Texas Ballet Theater, Tim’s choreographic works include Fascinating Evening and Uncommon Valor, Love Thing, Ragtime Dance, Leaves and Shostakovich Suite.
