As well as presenting a wonderful program of performances throughout our 50th anniversary year, Queensland Ballet has some other special events and activities planned to celebrate, including:

The publication of "Keeping the Dream Alive", a book commemorating Queensland Ballet's 50-year history, featuring beautiful photographs and historical information.
Orders for this limited edition publication are being taken now - to download form, click here. Please add $10 postage and handling fee to your order if you choose not to collect the book in person.

Double celebration
Queensland Ballet staff and dancers had a lovely morning on February 28th, hosted by "Bloch for Dancers" at the Emporium Hotel. It was a double celebration of our 50th anniversary and the Fortitude Valley store's 5th birthday.

In attendance were past dancers of the Company, including Mary Heath, Lynette Sorrenson, Michelle McCormack, Carmel Nolan, Rosetta Cook, Michelle Giamichelle, Trevor Green, Anthony Shearsmith, Andrew Pronger and Shane Weatherby, as well as most of our current Company of dancers, including Principals Rachael Walsh and Clare Morehen, and Soloist Nathan Scicluna.

Queensland Ballet's Artistic Director Francois Klaus, Artistic Associate Robyn White, and General Manager Judith Anderson shared in the the celebration, along with The Australian Ballet's Artistic Director, David McAllister, and Principal Dancer Robert Curren. Bloch's Simon Wilkenfeld, Adrian Burnett and other staff were also in attendance, with Simon saying a few words, along with QB General Manager, Judith Anderson.

Dance school teachers from around the region also attended the event.

Bloch is one of Queensland Ballet's main suppliers of ballet shoes, and we enjoy a long association with the well-known company. They also generously sponsored our book Keeping the dream alive.
