Thrilling pas de deux punctuate brilliant large ensemble works - Queensland Ballet’s International Gala 2009 sparkles from start to finish! This year’s Gala truly embraces the international language of dance, and the artistry found in Australia and abroad. The Company will welcome celebrated dancers from Nederlands Dans Theater, Bayerisches Staatsballett (Munich), West Australian Ballet and Brisbane’s own Expressions Dance Company.

Queensland Ballet’s Artistic Director François Klaus has assembled an imaginative and exciting program with a captivating mix of dance styles. Among the acclaimed international choreographers whose work will be featured are Czech Jiří Kylián, Danish-born Peter Martins, American Tobin Del Cuore, Mario Schröder (from Germany’s Ballett Kiel, who will visit Brisbane to mount his work on Queensland Ballet dancers), and Australians Natalie Weir and Louise Deleur. A truly joyous celebration of dance, International Gala surprises and delights each year!
