Legendary Heros
Myths and legends are rich in stories of great heroines whose lives
have inspired music, literature and dance. From Juliet and Desdemona
to the selfless Solveig in Ibsen's Peer Gynt and Hans Christian
Andersen's The Little Mermaid, François Klaus explores the
tales of these heroines and how their tragic lives insprire dance.

Distorting Tradition
Many choreographers draw on the traditions of classical ballet
to create new movement vocabularies. François Klaus and the QB dancers
will demonstrate how the different styles of modern choreographers
such as William Forsythe have evolved from classical roots.

from Rehearsal to Theatre Magic
Two special evenings will be set aside during our International
Gala 2003 season to give our audiences the chance to see beyond
the magic of a performance to how a production is 'bumped in' at
a theatre, and how lighting and staging can profoundly affect the
audience's experience. A fascinating exploration of the complex
backstage world.
